CHALLENGE

We have developed a mobile application for Agromovil to strengthen the relationship between small farmers, transporters, and buyers. This app offers a set of tools (transport requests, route planning, online payments, etc.) with the aim of promoting trade in fresh produce on a small scale, optimizing routes for transporters, and ensuring fair prices that benefit all participants. 

A technological product was designed and developed to digitally transform the tasks of buyers, producers, and transporters.

Solution

  • A mobile application was designed and developed for Agromovil where:
  • The most suitable profiles for adopting a mobile application were defined, for which a role with specific functionalities was designed.
  • In the application, producers post available cargo, and buyers contact them to negotiate.
  • Transporters choose routes that the system optimizes, ensuring effective product pickups and deliveries, as well as profitable trips.
  • An open-source routing algorithm (jsprit) and Google’s cost matrix service were implemented.
